Faith In God- Not Money!

The only time I think I worry about anything is when we have a shortage of money and finding the right career in a small town! Those two things are constantly on my mind. But when money shows up I'm in a better mood about things and a feel a little better about living in a small town. I've never had a commission based job before and I'm kind of 60-40 about it. The 60% percent of it is I like the freedom. The 40% is that I like what I sell, but the commission STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just another company that fills you with alot of hype saying you could make $150 thousand a year. OK, maybe in Little Rock or New York but not in Searcy and it's surrounding area. I thought about all the people that have tooted their wealthy horn at me the past couple months and I put all their stories and locations they started out in together. And I can see they had a huge population and a huge business buffet in front of them. So they made their money and had a lot of businesses to go to. Not so with me I've hit about every business in Searcy and not quite as satisfied as they are.

But no matter what, I've had some kind of money come through. It was the Grace of God that has showed me that He will not let me starve. My faith in Him has grown strong because of His mercy and greatness, and to Him I stand in awe.

I went into AFLAC thinking I would make good money. Not true! This is a job that has a process that can draw out for a long time. It's the businesses that can put you on hold for awhile. It drives me nuts because I need a paycheck and they are poking around. It just seems to be a pain after awhile.

That brings me to my next thought. I know of so many people I would like to help if I had the money to do it. But it never seems to pan out. So I think the people in the world who have money are the wrong ones. Do you ever think that? You would think that if God wanted us to help the poor and the needy why did people like the Trumps or the Bill Gates get so filthy rich and those of us who want to help others and not hoard it for ourselves not get it? I'm sure Trump and Gates do give a lot of money to charities. But is it out of the kindness of their heart or because it's a tax write off. I think it's because of the taxes!

So I put those thoughts together and tried to come up with an answer. God has given us Christians a more powerful thing than money, He gave us His Son. And through His Son we have the power of Faith and with faith comes a heart felt prayer and great compassion toward others.

Sure we could pay the bills for those in need and feed the hungry. But with the power of Christ we do it out of love and faith. Usually it's all done by a network of loving Christians not just by one individual. The love of a nationwide Christian network was there helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina way before Bill Gates money was. It's not the American government establishing Churches of Christ's in places like Uganda or Honduras. It's hard working Christians backed by an eternal bank of love from God.

Prayer and Faith have helped more people in this world than money ever could. And that's a hard and true fact. A strong prayer followed by great action by many, and a faith that can move mountains in God will always get the job done. Put your Faith in God! Not money!

#5 GOLIATH GETS BEAT BY UNRANKED DAVID!

How funny is this picture? To John and the many Buckeye fans this HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!! This is like OVU going to N.C. and whooping up DUKE. If there is ever a story that the media needs to blow out of proportion it's this one. How embarrasing for Michigan will this be for them. They could beat everybody on their schedule and still the BCS will laugh when Michigan says they should be playing for the title. The BCS's response: " Yeah we know you are Michigan but didn't you get by the Bad News Bears."

The first week in college football was a complete blowout. The big schools need to play better teams. I was excited through the first quarter and then I went off and did something else more interesting. Next week will be a little better I won't see any of the day games because soccer starts for brayden next week. It always begins with the Jamboree we play 3 games that day.

It was very exciting Friday night when I saw WTRF was streaming live the Sports Zone online. It was great to see Park highlights and some OVAC football in action. I didn't even know Park changed their helmets, that shows you how long I've payed attention to OVAC football. GO PARK! Have a good week!

I'm Back! After A Long Week : (

I can say we have had a long week. But yet our problems are little compared to others. We had to get our floor in our kitchen replaced because of a defective ice-maker hose that leaked around January. It ruined the part of the floor around the fridge and leaked into our living room. Ruining the sub-flooring underneath the ceramic tile and a small portion of our hardwood floor. Originally we had the builder come in and look at it and he was going to fix it. The whole entire floor was cracking. The grout between the tile was crumbling all over the entire kitchen and we couldn't figure out why. So our builder said it was the vinegar water we use to mop the floor with. Uh..... That was what the floor people told us to use, so we knew that wasn't the reason. Then he said it was maybe a bad batch of grout. Okay, maybe?
So we brought in a tile layer who knew everything about flooring. He looked at it and in one minute he said the builder didn't put backer board under the tile. So when the house settles the tile cracks with it. Okay now I am angry!!!!!!!!!!! So the one picture is the actual evidence of no backer board. He glued it straight to the wood floor.
I've learned alot. When you build a house watch what your builder is doing. Anyhow the floor is done it looks great and now we have to do something about the tile cracking in our other two bathrooms. Obviously there must not be any backer board either. Luckily it was all paid for by the insurance company which he has been a pain in the neck too! Like my Dad would always say, "At least we got our good health." That is still not satisfying enough for me. I'm going to get some straight up answers from my builder soon.
I ask that you continue to pray for Mrs. Hatcher Braydens teacher, we haven't heard any news yet. And my friend Tammy Pickens she is going through Chemo right now and very sick from it. Plus she has no health insurance and the bills are stacking up. Be grateful for your good health and pray that God will bless those who don't. Have a good week!

Spiders- Not A Big FAN!

If there is one thing that "FRIGHTENS" this

'6-3" 240 lb human named - Clint is these little CREEPY monsters. I could stand next to a snake or a large elephant and be less scared of them than these things. "I HATE SPIDERS!"

I opened my mailbox the other day and two of these Black Widow SUCKERS were in there. They both quickly suffered my Wrath.

So getting ready for Church this morning Shannon found one in our house and she killed it before I told her what it was. I'm very proud of her bravery and glad she didn't pass out after she found out it was a Black Widow.

If anybody has seen the movie "Evan Almighty" that is what I feel like. Our house is Noah's ark! It attracts every animal and insect you can imagine. Wasps, spiders, hummingbirds in the garage, cats drinking in the kids pool, raccoons, foxes and I saved the best for last "SKUNKS!"

We were laying in bed the other night and all of sudden this horrible smell filled our room. Of course Shannon asked if I made the smell, LOL ! A lousy Skunk decided to get irritated directly outside our bedroom window. It was horrible! I griped all night long, swearing if I saw that stinkin skunk I would personally de-fume him. Our room wreaked of Skunk all day! God must have been irritated with me that day. The SKUNK thing has happened twice the first time it wasn't as bad.

As I write this I keep checking to make sure nothing is climbing on me! Have a good week!

A Special Prayer For A Christian Teacher : )

Monday Brayden entered the first grade with hope and nerves. He has a new teacher this year which we didn't know much about her and neither did he. His first day went good he said he was excited about his new teacher and was ready to go back the next day.

On Tuesday his teacher Mrs. Hatcher had a pain in her side that would not go away through out the day so she went to the hospital and they sent her home with some medicine. The next day the pain was still there and she went to the doctor again they ran test and come to find out she might have cancer.

They found some spots on her liver, stomach and her lung. We were just flat out devastated! So I ask that you might say many prayers for Mrs. Hatcher and pray that God will move in a mysterious way and give her some good news. And pray that God will bless the children in this class that they might have her back as a teacher.

Sometimes life can move as gentle as water in a stream and sometimes that stream can become a huge flood. Be prepared every day for the good and the bad. Stay right with God and uphold his love and then you will be able to face anything.

I won't be blogging for awhile our kitchen floor is being dismantled on Monday and new tile is being laid. We had a leak from our ice maker hose and ruined our floor plus it has been cracking because of the lousy job the builder did. Will be in motel for about 8 days. Have a good week.

Pictures Of Crosses.

There are so many pictures of crosses that they all seem to say the same thing "Glorious Victory." As we view our world and try to fathom why some people would completely ignore such a beautiful scene and not try to gather the meaning of these pictures it blows our minds.


I try to comprehend why a non-believer could not see our view of the importance of Calvary's crosses. I look at these in amazement and with great relief, to know that one man came and loved me so much that he has freed me from all the guilt of my sins. He bore what I couldn't and I am thankful and confident because of Him.

A lot of times we think it was just physical pain that Christ went through, but we sometimes forget what He went through mentally. To take on every sin of every man past, present and future is something none us could ever imagine and yet Love every man, woman and child at the same time is beyond belief for us.
The toughest part for Jesus is when His Heavenly Father turned away from him. You can hear it in His words. "Father why have you forsaken me." What would it feel like if God turned His back on us, I cringe in Fear, it would be pain beyond what we could ever handle. Creation would stop and it would be a definition of Fear that could never be defined by human words.
"HELL" is what it will be like when God says "I never knew You." Words to ponder on, even as I write those words I get scared to think the The Lord will say that to many in the last days. "I never knew you."
Look at these pictures and define your meaning of them. See in your mind what was done upon them and take a deep breath and be grateful for what Christ came to this earth to do and be humble for what we didn't have to do.
I want God to say to everyone on the day of judgement "Well done my good and faithful servant." I pray we all hear those words and let's tell everybody our meaning of these pictures, and lets feed his sheep.

Focus On Jesus!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1

Today was a very good Lord's day. It's always good to be at worship and be able to bring your troubles in life and leave them at the door. It's always good to be able to go to a place and feel renewed and bring glory to the God of the Universe.

Worship is a special place for all of us to be. I worry all week long about petty things yet when I go to Church I never seem to fret about anything. As many people feel that worship is boring and not upbeat enough and doesn't fulfill their needs, they have the wrong interpretation of it.

Worship is a renewing of the mind a place where we get together and worship The God above. We meet with others to get strengthening, to be with others who face the same fears as we do. It's not a rock concert or a place where the preacher runs around hitting people in the head and pretends he can rid you of your demons or make you cured of a handicap or illness, that is the Lord's job. It is a place of thanksgiving, a place to bring praise and renew our minds of Christ and prepare us for the week ahead.

Worship prepares us for what exactly this verse above states. We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses that helps us throw off our sin and prepares us with perseverance and strength so that we can run the race marked out for us. As soon as we leave the worship scene and walk out those doors Satan is right there ready to sink his teeth in us.

Make going to worship services a habit and see how it can change your life today and for the future. I hope we all make time for The Lord this week. Make time to read His Word and pray all the time. VICK DOGS BEST FRIEND : (

Micheal did you not learn from your brother? Again I don't really care about this at all. It's just another superstar getting in trouble and yet we don't ever learn that we don't need to look up to these sports figures.
Vick walked into the courthouse with a crowd of very unhappy people. Don't you think that right there he would change his plea to guilty? But no, his lawyers talked him into pleading not guilty! I never was a big fan of the Vick brothers, even though they were both very good at the sport of football.
But the day when Vicks brother got in trouble and kicked off the VT team, I was happy. I was really irritated when Marcus Vick blew out our Mountaineers and then gave the crowd the middle finger. As a loyal 'eer fan they should've locked him up in the locker room and had the WVU band in there with him playing simple gifts for 48 hours straight.
The crowd Vick walked into courthouse with today is the way every abortion doctor should have to walk into their clinic of death every day. Maybe they would think twice about what they are doing.

Mini Van Filled with JUNK!

This isn't a joke! I saw a Ford Taurus like this a couple of months ago at the hospital and I was traumatized. I took some pictures of it and stood there looking at it. I could understand maybe there being one automobile being like this, but now there are two in Searcy.
I just don't understand! The whole van is packed from corner to corner with old newspapers. If anybody can explain this or have seen this before please let me know. I'm baffled! Both times I saw these cars I thought about the Christmas house in south Wheeling. Everybody remembers that house I'm sure. If anybody has a picture of that house will you send it to me,thanks. I think if this mini van wrecked the papers would fly around for a week or so.

Christians With a Bad Delivery : (

This may be a harsh title above but there are some recent things I have heard a couple of our brethren say that makes me step back and say "WHOA!" Hold on a minute !

The kids were at swim lessons this morning at Harding and I was there taping their last day and then had to head out to get the Duck rolling. But some thing happened while I was there, I didn't know that it happened but it did.

As I got home Shannon told about this lady that was sitting next to my Father-in-law Bob. They were talking to each other and she was asking who he was there watching. So he pointed out Brayden and Macy and said they were his grand kids.

So she asked him where he went to church and he said First Baptist in Judsonia and she said she went to the Church of Christ. She said he should come and visit their church some time. So he told her that Shannon and I go to College Church and that they visit some times. He stated he used to attend the C of C for about 20 years and decided that wasn't where he felt he should be. So out of the blue she starts going off on him. She was quoting scriptures and said something that just kills me. "The Church of Christ is the only Church and all the rest are going to Hell!" WHAT?

That's where the title comes into play! That is not the way to go about it. It's the same exact thing I wrote about last week with the bullhorn on the street. It's not right! The Church of Christ has a bad Reputation down here with a lot of the other beliefs. Somehow our Public Relations department has made a big BOO - BOO. We didn't teach the truth in love.

I know what we believe and I believe we try to do things by what the Bible states. And she may be right, but that is not for us to decide. If we want people to come to our worship services we don't make it look like the best club on campus, we go about it by kindness, not in your face your church is going to HELL! We try to make our beliefs to show a better way by what the word of God says. Truth by His Word, NOT by what we personally think is better and where we think everybody else is going for eternity.

Thanks lady now I will never get them to go back to the Church of Christ. The example I've laid out in front of them for 9 years is shot because of one rude Christian with the wrong attitude. My father in law said that is why he left the C of C to much bickering about who's right and not enough love. I agree!

This my personal belief and if anybody wants to disagree that's fine. But we do bicker a lot about doctrine so much that a lot of Churches have lost valuable members because of it. I know a lot of Churches of Christ are going in the wrong direction down here in the South. I know of a couple down here that have voted on musical instruments in their worship. I'll save that for another blog, I'm going off track.

The Bible is vitally important in what it says and we as Christians need to follow it to it's fullest, but we can't ignore the other departments of the Church. Our reputation needs to be reconstructed in how we present our Faith to those outside our doors. They either accept it or they don't. But don't muddy the waters for my generation and others to follow, make us look like a loving Church with a strong faith and belief in the Word of God. Keep it simple and kind but don't shove it in their faces, people are very timid when it comes to religion. We want them to come in, not freak out and run the other way.

Thank You Lord for all the great examples of your love that have taught me to love and cherish you more. AMEN!

To Catch An "IDIOT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just don't understand these disrespecting human beings. What is their goal for doing what they propose they are going to with a minor on these chat rooms on the Internet. I've seen almost all these and boil the whole time I watch them. But this one was different I was still insanely "BOILING" but I laugh because of such stupidity. To see their "deer in the headlight expressions" when Chris Hansen walks into the room, and they change their story completely.

Almost every pervert that walked in that room or on the beach were looking over their shoulder for somebody to roll them on the ground and arrest them, and most of them got it right. Act like an animal and eat the dirt like an animal.

What's the deal? Why do they do this? They have obviously seen or heard about the show and Perverted Justice that works with Dateline. They don't think of the massive damage they have caused their families and their career and their self respect. To be seen on national TV and their pervert mug plastered all over the tube. I hope they repent and change, but many don't it's a sick addiction and they have to play the game until an innocent victim is raped or killed. SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK people they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can all judge them but in the Lord's eyes we all are just as guilty because a "Sin is a Sin" no matter what. One day we will all have the "Deer in the Headlight look" when God plays the role of Chris Hansen and judges us! Will we ramble around, sweat puddles and change our story????

Lets hope not!

Do You Feel Like The Fox?

I think we as Christians feel like this Fox in today's world. Caught amongst the Predator known as the world. I felt like this Fox for the last 8 months of my life. I felt that the Big Dog was pressing down on me when it came to not finding a job for 6 months.

But through strong faith and prayer I never worried about the Big Dog, he never caught up with me. I felt I had good patience in God. There were many times I got down, but I got back up and went at it again. It was hard to find a good paying job in a small town, so I did what I do best I planned and pray hard.

It was God who pulled me through tough times, but I still felt my problems were small compared to others. So I prayed for those that were in the same situation I was in, but I asked God to take care of them before He took care of mine.

We just can't pray for ourselves and forget that others are in the same boat. There are many people going through not just tough times , but Disastrous times. Things I don't even want to think about. I read a lot of news on the Internet and I hurt when I read of things going on with people in places such as Africa. The stories I have read about innocent women and children in Africa and what they have been through. It's sad! I think about how many people are suffering with terminal sickness and what they are going through at this very moment. I feel for those children who have been kidnapped and taken from the safety of their homes and families. I think about the many parents who are working 2 or three jobs just to feed their children and then have to stress about ending up on the streets because they can't pay the rent. I know I sound dreary but we all need to open our eyes and see the world through other peoples eyes. Those I have mentioned are definitely the fox in this picture.

Do you feel like the fox? Are things bearing down on you? My only answer is be very patient with God. Pray not only for your situation ,but pray more for others.

After 7 months I landed a pretty good job so far, AFLAC is starting to come through but I also have been landscaping on the side, which I love to do. But I don't believe God just hands us stuff, he provided me with the direction of what to do and the faith to back it up and the knowledge of prayer for others. I was the "Fox" in the picture but the Dogs never knew I was right there in front of them because I had help from a higher power.

If this picture was taken in Arkansas It would have been an Armadillo! In West Virginia it would not have been there long enough to paint over. It would've have been a dinner table delight in HUNDRED!

The Spoiled Jail Birds Release from Her Prison Palace!

Paris Hilton is to me like having the worst flu bug, she makes me throw up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A spoiled brat! Smiling like she's arriving to her sweet 16 party. How many people who are released from jail everyday have 200 photographers flashing there idiotic cameras at them. Guess what Paris they didn't care one bit about you they just wanted the half million they will receive for your mug!

Do we really care about all this mess the celebrities get into. I don't! They do it just to promote their career. It's the same reason they get divorced 10 times.That glamorous celebrity that they hook up with is just a part of their resume.

My children will not look up to people like this they are horrible role models for any person of any age.

I read an article about teen star Lindsey Lohann. Teen girls and younger use her as a role model, if they were smart they should roll away from that mess as fast as they can. Recently her former bodyguard came out to tell about this little queen. She would threaten him to take her to her local drug dealer and get her drugs, and then she beat up the dealer for some stupid reason. The parties he guarded her at where she used every drug you can imagine. He said he had to carry her out of every party she was at. She was beating up people at the parties because they were staring at her wrong. Great role model for teen girls! What a messy world we live in, to think as I type this there are evil things going on that most of us would be horrified to hear about.

You know how you feel when you hear of things that are going on in this world, and we just hear about it and never see it. Can you imagine how The Living God feels when He sees it all taking place. Don't you think he just wants to wipe us all off the earth again. Or does he feel compassion for us and wants to put all his wrath into Satan himself? I don't know what God thinks, but I know his promise through his son Jesus that we are free from the guilt of sin.

Romans 2:6 - 8 God "will give to each person according to what he has done." To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immorality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self - seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

I think that scripture just cleared up my previous question don't you ?

Oh, Paris. What are we going to do with you? You won't be a role model in this family will you? Again pray for every person on this earth including ourselves for we are all in the same boat of sin just not all of us are sinking our ship yet! And remember everybody can be saved if they are willing to do it. Even Paris and Lindsay : ) Thank You God for your great mercy and compassion.

My Arkansas Vacation vs. Shannon & the Kids Florida Vacation?

My family decided to leave for Destin, Florida for 11 days and leave their wonderful husband and fantastic father at home.
So the first picture is my wife being ignorant and cruel!!!!!!!!!! This is the view of the beach from the patio of their condo. So I thought I would be the smart elic that I am and send them a picture from my phone and show them my beautiful view from the Singer Motel located in Searcy. Those are my beautiful slippers in the picture. You can't beat that view of my backyard : )
All week she has called telling me of the seafood they have been stuffing their faces with and how good it is, BIG WHOOP! They ought to try my luscious CORN DOGS and HAMBURGER HELPER! Though, I have eaten out a couple of times I just like to make them feel bad.
It's been quiet and very boring though. It's nice to have peace and quiet and not have to break up the kids from a brawl. But I am ready for them to come back soon. The reason I didn't go was because I had to work and had a landscape job to try and finish. So I pray that they have a safe trip back and will be happy to see how well rested their father is .
I did tell them I would be going with them next time, of course our vacation will be Wheeling next summer and maybe Christmas. Shannon asked me before they left what would I choose between going to Wheeling or Florida? I told her I would choose Wheeling over Florida. She thought I was crazy, she likes Wheeling but she would rather go to Florida any day. I'm glad it's not the other way around, for me to spend my vacation in Searcy, I would choose Florida. VBS 2007 !

Well baseball is finally over and the next event was VBS at College Church. It was mine and Shannon's first time to help out and it was a great experience for both of us and the kids. They put alot into it and it turned out to very nice. I haven't heard how many kids were there between 4 churches but there were a great multitude present.

The last night they had a pizza party for all those that had helped and their families. I have never seen so many pizza's , they ordered 100 from Dominoes and 100 from Little Caesar's. I sat there and thought that is the total amount of pizzas I ordered my first year in college. But they came close to running out, just kidding! I was really impressed with the attendance I would guess there were about 400 kids for all four nights.

Every child is truly blessed by parents who take them to VBS, so much fun to be had by all! May God bless the children of his Church. May they always be taught with love.

The Penecostals On The Streets Of Searcy!

I thought this was a little strange today when I saw this. The signs were good and it was good to see people trying to get the word of Christ out.

But not the way they were doing it. With bullhorns and knocking on peoples car windows.

I just didn't agree with it! It kind of frightened me a little especially when Macy in the back goes "Why is that weird boy knocking on the window?" I just ignored them, it was a kind message they were preaching, but it was unkind and haunting the way they presented it. Hell, fire and brimstone was the way they said it to me. There are times I just want to get in people faces and scream why don't you understand and just quit your evil and accept Christ. But I can't because that isn't the way Christ would ever present his life-changing story. He would have presented it with love, he would've never used a bullhorn.

It's hard to believe in this town you would ever need to be on the streets holding up signs to let people know about Christ. We've got a Church on every corner, a Christian College that pretty much keeps the town running, plus were located in an area known as "The Bible Belt." Why is there a need to be on the streets preaching Christ. SATAN! He's on every corner also!

Being in sales most of my life I've learned alot about people. There are some people who are harder than a brick wall to get through to, and then there are some that are ready to listen to you before you even say a word.

People just don't pay attention very well and then there are some who pay good attention. (They are hard to find!) There are so many different scenario's I could present I would run out of space on this Blog.

But one is this, people are afraid of change. I've come across this with this AFLAC thing I'm trying at the moment. What I have sold so far the clients were very easy to get through to, they didn't have health insurance and found that this was a good thing to do. Where others are just stubborn and won't give you the time of day because they are afraid to change.

Basically AFLAC is going to pay you good money to go to the doctor or pay you cash to pay your bills or help compensate you for an injury or give you $5,000 dollars if you get diagnosed with cancer. Why is it so hard for people to give you time to tell you some good news. They don't like change, their scared to be sold on something good for them. Same way with Christianity, they know the buildings are there, they know they don't have to pay for anything and the people in the Church will welcome them in happily. Then why do we need to go on the streets to bring the Good News? 1) People don't want to change. 2) They need it brought to them. They need to see something tangible. They need to see those of us that have gone through the process and bring them over their fear of change. 3) They need to be taught about something that will bring them relief from their worries.

Christianity and AFLAC are about the same process you have to come back over and over to get through to them. Then once they have signed up they feel good about it and wonder why they were so fearful. Then you have to make sure they stay with it, if you don't the process was a waste of time. It's funny how some things follow the same routine, but that's just how life works in every aspect.

There are many ways we can get the word of Christ out, other then screaming on a bull horn and tapping on peoples car windows. Christianity and people are very sensitive to each other, the delivery must gentle but precise. Nobody would sign their life savings over to someone they didn't trust, neither will somebody sign their life over to a God they don't understand or fear. After what I saw today, if I wasn't a Christian already, I would not have felt good about going to that church either.

Showing through your good example is probably the best method yet. Just like advertising, they say word of mouth is still the best method! Be gentle and precise when sharing the story of Christ.

The Season Ended With A Prayer!

You won't ever see this at the close of a little league season ever again! Unless Shane Fullerton is your coach. I always hoped Brayden would get to play on Shane's team and it was a blessing to him and to all the parents. The team won 6 straight to finish the season at 7 - 7 only to lose the first game in the tournament. They were up 4 - 3 in the top of the 5 th inning only to get beat 7-4. It was heart breaking to see a team loaded with talent and heart. Every kid was special on that team, they were the best acting and kind children. We enjoyed every game and had some real nail biters at the end.
But to have it all come to the final moment of the season, the prayer. I was tearful and hoped that Brayden would get this opportunity again with Shane next year. There was another team who had a coach from our church who is a good friend of mine. Yet he had his own coaching ways and really made him look foolish to others and our team especially the way he acted toward our team. I was so embarrassed for him I went to his office the next day and had a talk with him. We haven't really spoke much since my visit but I tried. But to see the difference between one coach and another gives me a good picture of how some Christians have their priorities straight and others don't.
A prayer at the end of a little league game! You would never had seen that when I was in little league, half the time my coaches were cussing and smoking cigarettes on the bench.
God bless these little boys and their adventures in life and sports. I pray that Shane will have had an influence on all of them and they will look back and talk about the final moment of the season of 2007. THE PRAYER!

May God Bless the boys of Searcy Medical Center Paite, Paydon, Evan, Brayden, Ethan, Justin, Drew, Wade, Blaine, Colt, Jordan and Coaches Shane Fullerton and Ronnie Harlow. This is from one parent who was truly moved by them all.
Brayden's last at bat! What a sweet little boy. He swung harder and harder at each at bat and only made contact a few times. I told him I was proud every time he stood up there and gave it his best.

How Well Do You Know God?

Yes, I was back at this place again the other day to talk to one more employee about AFLAC. He sounded interested and we shook hands and pushed the chairs in. As I was turning to leave he asked if he could ask me a question, I said sure. He asked me if I knew the Lord? I said yes with a little shock in my answer. I said I went to Harding and attend College Church. He said that was good, and he was just checking.
I felt weird after that conversation, I had thought about it all day long. Here I was trying to help a guy who had no health insurance and works a full time job and preaches on the weekend to give him some kind of relief. And he was more worried about my soul and salvation. Kind of a mixed up scenario. I'm selling him insurance for earthly reasons and he's selling me a pitch about my salvation. I told him I liked his passion and thanked him for his concern and he said your welcome.
My question is Do we really know the Lord? Do we come right out to a complete stranger and flat out ask them Do you know the Lord? Where is our passion for asking that question every day to somebody? I really need to re-ponder this way of thinking. To think about where I am with the Lord in my life. Am I really doing what I am really here for ? To save as many as possible! Where are you in your walk with the Lord? I'm not talking about going to church and singing songs and listening to the sermon, that's good to do that. But what about our personal relationship with God and the work we are supposed to be doing for Him? I thought about it and graded myself . You know my grade was an "F". I'm not doing enough to serve God and others. I'm just strumming around in life trying to figure out my next move to support my family, but not enough to make my next move toward Heaven. Let's all answer the questions. How well do we really know the Lord? And what are we doing to do his will on earth? May God Bless Us All!
